Plenty of natural light, great music and incredible vibes. This will be a combination of off-the-court and on-the-court sessions. Off the court, we will be working on strength and conditioning. During these sessions, I will focus on teaching the value of proper strengthening to promote sustainability, which will help each athlete become less prone to injury. We want to spend more time on the court rather than off it. It's a place to breathe, stretch, strive and succeed.
These are two hour sessions where leadership skill development is key to making any group effort work successfully. One of my main focuses will be on communication skills. This skill is highly important and will make working together in a group setting a positive and effective experience at camp.
Confidence! Building a strong belief in oneself is key to what we all want to be seen as, Confident! I want to help participants find their voice and how to learn to trust their abilities.
Off-the-court work consists of - mile runs, sand beach work, conditioning, read and reacting drills, plyometrics, vertical development, speed, and agility, which are all things you can expect to find at Summer Grind.
Further into sessions, we will jump straight onto the court where we will spend time strictly on basketball concepts, building up basketball IQ, adding value to the basketball mind, increasing movement without the ball, relocation, court awareness, the pick and roll game, and the art of passing. All of what is listed are things you can expect to get out of that last hour on the court. 35 minutes will be spent learning and getting practice on these concepts and the rest of that time we will play in games of 2 on 2 to 5 on 5.
I anticipate a stop-and-go style of play where I’ll be filming and showing players what they did great vs what they could have done better and things they saw well vs things they may have missed completely. There will be a lot of teaching towards the beginning, but I have confidence that by the end of the summer, we will be doing a lot more playing and a lot less stopping and teaching.
We believe that the world never stops, and that the world is always evolving, and through constant changes the world forms constant growth. Laying one brick a day no matter the cost would mean the world is constantly grinding and so with that we choose to live a lifestyle like the world Keepgrind.
